1. 130 Free Desktop Icons

130 free icons for customizing your desktop folders. A great selection of colors and styles - all in standard 32x32 icon format.

2. Bit Torrent

Bit Torrent gives you cheap file distribution for large files. Slashdot.org called it "P2P with brains" because its users upload files at the same time they download, so more network bandwidth is available for more popular files. Like other P2P networks, it inserts no middleman between you and others; yet because of its novel approach to managing bandwith, bottlenecks are greatly reduced. Without BitTorrent, many huge files would be available only on optical media or in excruciatingly long downloads--if at all.

3. TIFNY

TIFNY Usenet Newsreader filters and catalogs media files in newsgroups, letting you decide which ones merit a closer look and which ones you don't even want to see. TIFNY's makers say it monitors hundreds of image-containing groups and displays images as a slide show as they download--and that these functions can perform automatically, or wait for your command.

Filtering logic rejects spam, cross-postings, and your killfile items without wasting your time and bandwidth on downloading them. You can weed out unwanted images by author, organization, newsgroup, file type, file size, or keyword. With its built-in MP3 jukebox and video player, TIFNY promises you can enjoy your media files immediately. A preview mode lets you choose the files you want to download, and a search function lets you call up items you'd like to see again. All of this helps you put the "use news" back into Usenet newsgroups.

4. FreeGraphics.org

A great place to go if you're looking for free clipart, this well-designed site offers graphics in many categories, including animations, arrows, banners, buttons, fonts, interfaces, photos, templates, textures and wallpaper.

9. WHOS-IN Pro 2006

THE multi-award winning, easy-to-use, in-out board for businesses and organizations that would like to know who's in and who's out of the office. (or as at least one forward thinking family is doing, use it at HOME!) WHOS-IN Pro is ideal for receptionists (and anyone else on your LAN for that matter) because there is no more time wasted checking a wall-mounted Office Board to see if someone is In, Out, or at Lunch... all the information you need is presented on screen in an easy to read format. Best of all, the 5 user version is FREEWARE. No nag screens, no disabled features, no time limitations - you can use it forever at absolutely no cost !!! 10. TheFreeSite.com: Free Font Resources
